Idracowra Station Idracowra on the Finke River was taken up in 1873 and became a leasehold for Messors Stokes, Walker and the Parker Bros. When Charles Winnecke surveyed the boundary between Mt Burrel and Idracowra it was determined the homestead was 5 kms inside Mt Burrel and was moved to its present site in 1884. Following the dreadful drought of 1890Ős Joe and Alan Breadon took over the Idracowra lease. In 1948 James Mortimer acquired Idracowra. Wally Langdon former N.T. Mounted Police managed until Ross Mortimer took over and the property was subsequently sold to Leo Murphy in September 1952. |
