Lyndavale Station William L. Pearce (Snowy) took up a vacant block on the extreme western end of Erldunda Station and named it after his sister Linda, who lived in Western Australia. Later he sold the property to Sid Stanes Snr of Erldunda in the 1940Ős. Sidney Herbert Stanes purchased Erldunda in 1920. Erldunda was taken up by Richard Warburton in 1881, in partnership with Tomlin. Warburton came to the centre in 1873 with the exploration party led by his father Colonel Peter Warburton. Erldunda was subdivided in 1987, the western end named Lyndavale after the original subdivision and the eastern side retaining the name Erldunda. John and Anne Stanes retained Lyndavale. Ross and Bennett Stanes are the fourth generation of the Stanes family on the lease. |
