Marqua Station

Marqua Station is 4,410 square kilometres and is situated 500 km North-East of Alice Springs and 430 km South-West of Mt Isa. Marqua was first taken up by George Reed as a pastoral lease. In 1951 J.R. Brown took over the lease until 1981 when Arthur Creek bought the lease. In September 1991 Charlie and Denise Chalmers bought the lease and still have it to this day. It is now managed by Coona and Cindy Coumbe who have two daughters, Shona and Cheryl-Lee that attend Alice Springs School of the Air.
