The Gardens Station The Gardens Station is 130 kilometres North east of Alice Springs. It got its name because it used to supply the miners at Arltunga and Winneke Depot gold fields with produce. The Turner family obtained a lease around "The Graden" in 1921. By 1935, despite problems in obtaining water, they had built up a Ônice little propertyÕ which was well managed with a comfortable homestead. The TurnerÕs ran horses as well as cattle. The property was purchased by Jim and Gail Hayes and their three sons, Richie, Andy and Ben in 1996. They are running mainly Santa Gertrudis cattle as well as a few Droghtmaster.
